PowerStep Store Info

Insoles First, Everything Else Second

PowerStep makes orthotic insoles, and everything else in the catalog sits around that. The insole range covers full-length and three-quarter supports, athletic and work boot models, dress and casual profiles, and variants built for specific complaints, with a selector on the site that narrows the range by arch height and pain location. Around it are ankle and knee braces, compression socks, recovery sandals and foot care accessories. Buying direct carries a sixty-day satisfaction guarantee and a lifetime guarantee against breakage of the plastic foot support under normal use, both of which apply only to purchases from PowerStep itself or from a named authorized seller. Verified discounts are available through ID.me for military, first responders, nurses, teachers and medical providers.

One Insole Name, Five Different Insoles

The flagship is not one insole. Pinnacle is five, and they differ by the shape of your foot rather than by the complaint you are treating. The standard Pinnacle is the general support model. Pinnacle Low is for low or fallen arches, Pinnacle High for high arches, Pinnacle Maxx is a firmer build for feet that roll inward, and Pinnacle Plus moves the cushioning forward for pain under the ball of the foot. This matters because the same complaint lands on different models depending on your arch, which is why PowerStep's own selector asks about arch height before it asks about symptoms. An insole that is right for the condition and wrong for the arch is the usual reason a pair gets abandoned in a drawer.

Know Your Arch Before You Order

  1. Find your arch height before you shop. Wet the sole of your foot and stand on a flat dry surface: a near-complete footprint means a low arch, a narrow band connecting heel and forefoot means a high one. That one observation decides which of the five Pinnacle models you are actually choosing between.

  2. Take the factory insole out before fitting the new one, since leaving it underneath raises the foot and changes the fit of the shoe, and most complaints about an orthotic feeling bulky come from this rather than from the orthotic.

  3. Insoles compress with use and stop doing much once they do. A pair worn daily is near the end of its useful life inside a year, and the signal is the return of whatever made you buy them.

  4. If you wear very different shoes through the week, a second pair sized to the other shoes beats moving one pair back and forth, and rotating them slows the compression on both.
