Target Optical operates inside Target stores, which is the whole proposition: an eye examination and a pair of glasses fitted into a trip you were making anyway, rather than a separate appointment somewhere clinical. It belongs to EssilorLuxottica, the group behind Ray-Ban, Oakley, LensCrafters and the EyeMed vision plan, so the frames are the same manufacturers stocked by the more expensive chains. The range covers prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, contact lenses and smart glasses, with designer and mid-market labels rather than the full luxury spread. Orders can be shipped home or collected in store, where an optician handles the fitting and adjustment.

The Circle Card Stacks, With Two Exceptions

Nothing else in optical retail works quite like this. Because Target Optical sits inside Target, the store card discount applies on top of whatever optical promotion is already running, applied after other discounts rather than instead of them. That makes it one of the few places where two savings genuinely compound rather than competing, and over an annual contact lens supply the difference is not trivial. Two things limit it. Eye examinations and protection plans are carved out, so the discount covers the glasses and the lenses but not the appointment that produced the prescription or the cover you buy to protect them. And the extended return window that card holders get on ordinary Target purchases specifically excludes optical, which several guides online get wrong. The optical return window is generous on its own and does not need the extension, but do not plan around having it. The card was recently renamed, and existing cards continue to work until they are replaced on expiry.
