The Programme That Changed Its Name and Its Terms

Accor Plus ran for three decades as the paid tier above Accor's free loyalty scheme, and in late 2025 it was rebuilt and renamed ALL Accor+ Explorer. The multiple membership levels were collapsed into one, the dining discount was reduced, and the free-night benefit was reworked to require a paid night alongside it. The reception among existing members was mixed, and anyone researching this on the strength of an older recommendation is likely working from terms that no longer apply. What it is now: a single annual fee covering dining discounts at Accor restaurants and bars across Asia Pacific and the UAE, a room discount valid at Accor hotels worldwide, two second-night-free stay benefits in the same region, and immediate Gold status through a block of status nights credited on joining.

The Free Night Requires a Paid One

This is the benefit people join for and the one most often misunderstood, partly because it used to work differently. Stay Plus is a second-night-free mechanic. You book two or more consecutive nights at a participating property, you pay for one, and one comes free, with the higher-priced night being the one waived. Two of these come with a membership year. The practical consequence is that the benefit rewards a particular shape of trip rather than any trip: two nights at an expensive hotel returns far more than two nights at a budget one, and a single-night stay returns nothing at all. It also cannot be spread around, since only one applies per booking and consecutive bookings at the same hotel are blocked. Blackout dates cover the periods you would most want to travel, participation varies by property, and points cannot be spent on the paid night. None of that makes the benefit bad. It makes it a benefit you have to plan a trip around rather than one that turns up when convenient, and it is the difference between a membership that pays for itself and one that quietly does not.

Working Out Whether the Fee Pays for Itself

  1. Check whether a credit card you already hold includes the membership before buying one. Several premium cards in the region do, and some only renew the membership while the card's own fee is actually being charged rather than waived.

  2. Work out your dining spend first, because the table-wide discount is the benefit most likely to recover the fee. It applies to everyone you are eating with rather than to you alone, which makes group meals and family occasions the high-value use.

  3. Save the stay benefits for expensive properties and longer trips. The free night is the pricier of the two, so the same benefit is worth several times more at a luxury brand than at an economy one.

  4. Check the blackout dates before planning around a stay benefit, since they cover the periods most people want to travel, and confirm the specific property participates rather than assuming.

  5. Do not book the paid night on a non-refundable rate if there is any chance the trip moves, because the stay certificate attached to it becomes non-refundable too.

  6. Count the status as part of the value rather than a bonus. Membership delivers Gold from the day you join, which brings upgrades, late checkout and welcome benefits that would otherwise take a full year of stays to earn.
