Buying Lighting From Halfway Around the World

WOMO sells modern lighting direct from the factories that make it, operating out of Hong Kong with products shipped from mainland China. That arrangement is the whole proposition and the whole set of trade-offs. It is why a chandelier here costs a fraction of the equivalent from a domestic retailer, and it is why standard delivery is measured in weeks rather than days, with made-to-order pieces taking longer still. The catalogue covers ceiling lights, chandeliers, pendants, wall sconces, floor lamps, fans and outdoor fixtures in contemporary and minimalist styles. Shipping is free to most destinations, a one-year warranty covers a single replacement for parts defects, and an extended plan is sold separately.

Why Returning Something Is Not Realistic

The return policy here reads like an ordinary one and does not function like one, and the difference is worth understanding before ordering rather than afterwards. Three things stack up. The window runs thirty days from delivery, which sounds generous until you account for a delivery that itself took four to six weeks, since anything you were waiting on has already been waited for. The buyer pays return shipping, and because the goods go back overseas, sending a boxed ceiling fixture is a genuine freight cost rather than a postage one, frequently comparable to what the item cost in the first place. And the refund is calculated as a proportion of the order value after service, packaging and shipping costs have been taken out, so the figure that comes back is smaller than the percentage suggests. None of this is hidden, and none of it is unusual for direct-from-factory importing. But the practical consequence is that a fixture you dislike is a fixture you keep. That changes what due diligence is worth doing beforehand: check the dimensions against your ceiling height rather than trusting the photograph, check the drop length on anything hanging, check the bulb fitting and whether bulbs are included, and check the voltage matches your country. Damage in transit is the exception and works differently, covered below.
